Sasa is a dedicated advocate for fair trade and sustainability. With over 30 years of experience at York University, where he currently is the director of the Bookstore, Printing, and Mailing Services, Sasa has been instrumental in promoting ethical sourcing and fair trade initiatives. His leadership and commitment to community-driven sustainability efforts have helped advance awareness and accessibility of fair trade products on campus and beyond.
Sabrina is the Secretary of the Green Campus Cooperative Board. She is also the Director of Marketing and Sales for the Green Campus Cooperative. She is a graduate of York University, where she studied International Development Studies and Environmental Studies. Her work is deeply rooted in her passions for environmental sustainability, community building, social justice, and building equitable trading systems through cooperative models.
John is the Treasurer of the Green Campus Cooperative Board. He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Science at York University. He teaches courses on business and society with a specific focus on cooperatives, the social economy, fair trade, and he supervises placement students for the Green Campus Cooperative. He is currently the President of the Canadian Association for Studies in Cooperation (CASC). He served as Treasurer of the Green Campus Cooperative for the past 6 years.
Darryl is the President of the Green Campus Cooperative Board. He is currently a Distinguished Professor in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Shiv Nadar University after teaching more than 25 years in Canada at York University and the University of British Columbia. His research interests include co-operatives, development, fair trade movements, social enterprise business ethics, and development ethics. He has also been active in the fair trade and co-operative movements including as the founding president of the Green Campus Co-operative. He is an active member and the past-president (2010-2015) of the Canadian Association for Studies in Co-operation.
Eileen is passionate about sustainability and the waste management sector, with hands-on experience in environmental services, project coordination, and community engagement. She has contributed to the development of waste reduction strategies for diverse organizations and is actively involved in advancing fair trade and responsible consumption. Eileen has served as the Marketing Coordinator for the Green Campus Cooperative and is a committee member of Fair Trade Toronto. Her work reflects a commitment to building practical, measurable solutions that reduceenvironmental impact and promote sustainable practices.
Justin is a York U BUSO program alum, and recent graduate of University of Toronto's GPLLM program, he is pursuing a career in Law in Ontario. He has been a long time supporter of Co-operative values and business, and has been part of GCC since 2018. Outside of GCC, Justin likes to play guitar and basketball, and participate in community events.
Uwafiokun is Dean of the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences at the University of Guelph.
Uwa has an MA in diplomatic studies and international affairs at the University of Westminster and a PhD in geography from Lancaster University. Prior to being appointed dean, Uwa served as the chair of the Department of Social Science in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies at York University and was a faculty member in the International Development Studies and African Studies programs. Uwa's research is interdisciplinary and spans a wide range of cultures and places, with an interest in the political economy/ecology of natural resources extraction, business and sustainable development, the cultural politics of development and Black geographies.
Kelly is the Executive Director at La Siembra Co-operative/Camino. She has a demonstrated history of working in the organic and fair trade food & beverage industry. She is skilled in Corporate Social Responsibility, Operating, Budgets, Governance, Small Farmer Supply Chain Management, Cooperative Development, and Strategic Leadership. She studied Geography and Political Science at Carleton University and has over 20 years of financial administration, social finance, and social enterprise development experience.
Kacie is a PhD Candidate in the Communication and Cultural Studies program at York University. She is passionate about women's arts and craft cooperatives and women's empowerment programs, and decolonizing artisan fair trade projects. She studies feminist community economies and is part of the Community Economies Research Network (CERN). She is also a Board member and equity committee member of the Canadian Association for Studies in Cooperation (CASC). Additionally, she is an artist, creative writer, and small business owner.
Abie is a graduate of York University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. She studied in the Business and Society program with an emphasis on the social economy and global economy streams. She has been active with the Green Campus Cooperative since 2023. She has planned events, designed social media posts, advertised, written professional emails, created budgets and educated other students on sustainability. Also she is a piano instructor at Yehuda School of Music.
Chad is the Vice President of the Green Campus Cooperative Board. He is also a senior executive with 20 years of success in education and retail with broad management experience in business development, strategic planning, solution based selling, finance, operations, supply chain and human resources.
